A Reader Responds:

I am a lot like Lefty.

I didn't meet my wife until I was 39 and we didn't get married until I turned forty. It seems there has been less and less whoopie ever sense.

I think it is wrong for me to blame it entirely on my wife. It is my fault as much as hers, and probably more my fault than hers.Knowing I "have" her I have gotten complacent and sloppy. I spend too much time in my room. It is like pulling teeth for her to come out in the living room to even watch an hour of TV with her.

Sure I still love her, but I guess I just take her for granted. It is no wonder so many nights have passed that she didn't want to make whoopie. There have even been a few nights where she want to make whoopie and LO AND BEHOLD, I COULDN'T DO IT!!!

Oh embarrassment of embarrassments! I started off fine, then about 90 seconds into the art of love and I went as limp as a dishrag. This has happened on numerous occasions.

Impotency! Omigod! I am only 49 and too young for this sort of thing, right?

Apparently not.
