My name is Bo. I am 48 year old divorced man with a teenage
son. I am living single after my marriage ended in 1990 and
a 7 year relationship ended a year ago.
I live in New York City where I am a Broadway Stagehand.
I have traveled to, and/or worked in, 8 different countries
and every state in the USA. I have learned a great deal from
all of my experiences and have met many wonderful people (some
of them famous).
I think I might be a good panelist here on "Love
and Learn" primarily because I have had a wide variety
of relationships and experiences with a wide variety of people.
I believe that relationships between men and women are very
hard to accomplish - especially without honesty, trust, forgiveness
and acceptance.
Throughout my life I have dated people of different
races, religions, educational backgrounds and temperaments.
And each relationship taught me more about me and about people
in general. I have some great memories that I will cherish
forever. And I have learned some important lessons.
When I give advice to my friends, my advice comes from "lived"
experiences. I don't make things up that either "feel
good" or are "politically correct." I believe
that people who are serious about getting advice would prefer
honest and direct words of wisdom - that might hurt a little,
but, in the long run, make sense.
One good friend of mine told me, "You know, you ought
to write an advice column." So here I am. I will be direct
with you regarding the questions you ask. And I hope you will
see that this is the best way to be.
I believe that men and women are different and I revel
in those differences! But I also realize that, because of
those differences, men and women don't see things the same
way. I believe that, if you understand and accept this theory,
you can solve any problem.
Fundamental to all of this is honesty and acceptance - give
and take. I will give you my best advice, as honestly as I
can, and I hope all goes well with you.
