How do you follow drunken sex with friend?

Dear Panel,

The first time that I was with this guy was 4 years ago, and we have been "hot and cold" ever since. He is a very, very good friend of mine and I truly don't know what I would do if I lost him. It has been one of the bumpiest roller coster rides there is, but also one of the funnest!

Most recently, I told him that I loved him in a very, very drunken state. He did not say anything back (but we were with each other that night). [...]

The best thing to do is probably run for the exit, but for some reason, I can not let go of him.

What do you think I should do??

Well, before you even attempt to figure out what he feels, you have to figure out how you feel

Lily I think you are right. She has to know how she feels before doing anything else

. You made a mistake by saying you loved him while you were drunk. Those are big words to a guy. You can't blame the fact you said it on being drunk, it's a factor, but there had to be motive behind your words too.

You said that this guy has been a very, very close friend of yours for a while. OK then, that's why you think you like this guy. You two know so much about each other that he became the guy you wanted to be with. Now if you pursue this relationship with him you can make a lasting relationship but that's only if he can communicate with you.

He needs to figure out what his feelings are and right now, and then you two need to sit down and discuss what is to come of this relationship if there can be one.

It doesn't matter if she confronts him or a writes a letter, the content was wrong.

You should have confronted him or called him instead of a letter though. It was a thought but you didn't get his honest reaction to what you had written. Give him some time to think until you hear from him decide what you will say to him when he does call or come by. Keep busy and don't act desperate to hear from him because he'll sense that.
