Dear Hypergrrl-
Your
Escape Your Reputation
When you go to a new
place with new people, your reputation can escape you. You may in
fact, not act any different or dress different, but when people
don't know you it's easier to have a completely different role.
My
Experience at Camp
This was true for me.
In school, I had friends, but I was always into sports, and I took
my education very seriously. At camp, nobody knew me or what
I was like at school so there were no preconceived notions about
who I was. Camp was all about fun: no studying, no parents,
etc.
When I was 13, I went
to camp as a counselor, and same thing: nobody knew me. By
the end of camp, I was dating an 18 year old. At that time,
I was going into eighth grade and never thought I'd be hooking up
with someone in high school, but it's just an easy comfortable environment
that is conducive to all new possibilities.
Guys
at School Have No Clue
Don't worry if the guys
at school aren't noticing you yet. When they finally get a
clue, you probably won't even care, as you will have moved on to
better things.
