I'm sure your friendship took a while to build the first time.  And that was without any confusing, somewhat traumatic events between you - now you are starting over with a "past" behind you.  Take your time - true friendship takes  a while to build under any circumstance.

singletin2.gifand  that you are uncertain about your relationship (friend or otherwise?)  Honesty would be a good start towards alleviating any resentment or hurt for both of you. If this guy is going to be your friend, or if you want to start another relationship, you need to be upfront about your feelings.

As for your decision to take some time off - well, he probably felt rejected.  Tell him again that it was for your good and had nothing to do with him - I bet this time he'll believe you.
