Hope said:

Pornography is an extremely destructive and addictive habit, and it will cause problems down the road guaranteed...

In fact, studies have shown that many men who commit rape have started down this road by their addiction to pornography.

A Reader Responds:

I disagree because...Even though I find pornography cringeful and it makes me upset when I find out my boyfriend leisurly watches video's with his friends, I believe I should be bigger and less insecure in myself and get over this hangup.

Even though I don't want to have to look at pornography, and I wouldn't want my boyfriend to feel as if he had to USE it, I would like to think that it's a natural curiosity for men to watch it from time to time.

There has also been evidence counteracting Hope's reply.

Pornography can relieve sexual frustration and therefore lower rape statistics. If you deny a pornography user the chance to get his sexual kicks using magazines, then they may turn to more extreme methods to fuel their fire!

You wouldn't think it was harmless if you looked at porn for what it really is.

I agree in the fact that it can be addictive, but used in moderation I think Pornography is harmless.

It doesn't seem that Lorrainas boyfriend is heavily into hard pornography, and I think that they should be able to strike a compromise. Tell him to keep it out of your sight and make sure the material he uses does not become any more offensive than merely pictures of naked women.

It may even be a show off thing - and it doesn't seem as if he feels that he's got secrets to hide, which is could be a good sign.
