Dear Panel,

I was wanting to meet new friends, etc. on the internet. Met this one person very nice later to find out this person is 16 years older than I am. There's no way I could be interested in that big a age difference. 6 years older than I am is too old for me. Should I just drop this person cold turkey or what?

My partner is 11 years younger than I, so I certainly can't say that you should rule out the older folks. However, we're both over 30 and that makes a difference.

If you're 13 and the internet interest is 29, I'd dump her/him. You should stay with your age group for a while until you've had a chance to experience the world.

Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders for even asking this question. Go with what you think is right.
