If Patrick is using the porn for masturbation, which he probably is, he is demonstrating that he sees women as a tool to be used for self-satisfaction. Sex to him is something he GETS not a relationship he HAS.

"Remember, faithfulness is more than just what you do, it's keeping your thoughts and motives pure also, since what's in your heart will eventually dictate the actions you take. Faithfulness involves being physically as well as emotionally devoted to another."

How can one keep their thoughts "pure"? Or your feelings "pure"? You feel what you feel and think what you think. Those are things you can't alter. You can be with a guy for 10 months or 10 years, but if you say you've NEVER thought about sex, relationships or any sort of fantasies with other people then you are LYING!!!

Thoughts and feelings about other people don't make you unfaithful. People think and people feel at different times, it's something that we do as humans. Its the consistency of these thoughts and feelings that count. Like if they last for a while and actually make you consider moving on to someone else. If that happens then it happens.

But don't tell this young woman that she is "unfaithful" and make her feel even worse about a bad situation. Lefty has the right idea, she's too young to be tied down to any one guy sick or not. So all she really owes him at the most is a supportive friendship.

Thoughts mean nothing. And fleeting feelings mean nothing. Especially if you love the one you're with. But if you want to leave a person you will leave whether you use the "unfaithfulness" of the heart as an excuse or not. Its just that simple.
