Dear MikeyG,
"What
makes
a
best friend and a girlfriend different"? Um.....sex?
Say, is this a trick question? Is this something that
sensitive males answer differently from macho males?
That reminds me of the old joke,

For
those of you not old enough to know Lefty's jokes,
the punch line is, "If you don't know I won't
send you to the store."

"what's
the difference between an elephant and an orange".
I have heard
the theory, probably most eloquently espoused in "When
Harry Met Sally", that a male and a female cannot be
"just good friends", that they cannot keep it only
at a friendship level because sex always interferes.
I am not a subscriber to this theory. I have had many
good female friends who I was not at all sexually attracted
to. Or maybe that was vice versa.
Anyway, I
would think that whether you were sexually attracted to either
of your "girl friends" would come into the picture
sooner or later. If you think that they are both people
who you could see as your future partner to share most aspects
of your life, then you are indeed a lucky guy. This
is the kind of dilemma that most others of us could live with.
You might want to choose one, and let the other one make some
other guy happy.
