but fail to realize the impact that it has on others and in the
long term.
You are dealing with two people who are having a battle of the
wills. This no longer has to do with the original issues, it's all
about pride now. Keep that in mind.
Your Mom Felt Threatened
Mom may have used the "morality" b.s. as a weapon because
she was feeling threatened and has nothing else to battle with.
May be she regrets the invite but knows the damage is done, and
now wants to save face.
He Has To Save Face
Your boyfriend being jobless made him need you and use intimidation
tactics and ultimatums as counter defense, now he has to continue
that in order to save face.
They are playing a silly game of tug-of-war over you, because YOU
have the upper hand by being the only one who doesn't need to save
face or make a point.
He's Blowing Smoke
It's completely ridiculous for your boyfriend to issue such an
ultimatum. He should read Mr.
Sensitive's advice about ultimatums.
Rarely ever when one gives an ultimatum do they follow through,
so I wouldn't worry about your boyfriend, he's blowing smoke and
not going anywhere.
Just Let It Blow Over
Do what you normally do, don't let this silly nonsense interfere
with your routine and eventually one of these two will cave in and
apologize. Time and the holidays have a way of making people kiss
and make up.
