Dear Jay,
OK. HOLD UP! Who had SEXFEST '02 and DIDN'T INVITE ME? And whoever
wins Sexfest, do they get like a heavyweight belt or just a nasty
rash? Just curious...I think there's a Big Pun song about this somewhere...dunno.
I'm too old.
Anyhow, you have loved and left the ladies and now you want
them to take you seriously, right? A few pieces of wisdom I have
for you. First, I have been a "player" all my life--soccer,
volleyball, men, women, etc...and something you need to understand
is that once you mess around with someone, you should just count
them out for a relationship.
You've Got A Reputation
Not always true, but once things start like that, you are old news
and everyone moves on. But apparently you are saying that even girls
that you don't mess with don't want to deal with you...so you have
developed something that we all like to call a "reputation"...right?
God knows I had one when I was your age.
Something I like to remind people of is that there are the
people that you f$&k and the people that you marry...not literally
always, but there are people in this world that are good for sex
and that is probably it, and those that are worth a little more
of your time. You are becoming one of the people that you f$&k,
so you have seen this in action.
I wouldn't recommend throwing your sexuality out the window entirely--I
say just lay low for a little while and mess around only if absolutely
necessary.
Time Will Help
The bright side is that unless you live in a VERY SMALL POND, you
should be okay with a little time. Eventually some girl will come
along who hasn't heard nasty rumors about you and will like you!
Maybe try to tone it down for awhile and see what happens. The
best defense is a good offense. Try some good PR for a change--Spread
good rumors about yourself!
My friend Angie and I used to sneak into the boys bathrooms in
7th grade and write "I LOVE ANGIE" and "I LOVE KALIA"
on the walls. We found that highly effective.
Be True To Yourself
Let this be a valuable lesson to you on how people judge you and
how quickly you can screw up your reputation. However, I also suggest
to you that you should never try to be something that you are not.
If you are comfortable in the player role, then go for it. Just
understand that these are the consequences...and sometimes having
the highest point total isn't worth it.
