Your Mindset

We're not (all) stuck up; just defensive.

It may just be the tone of your letter, but it sounds like you've already made up your mind that every women you meet in a disco will be stuck-up. If you go into a situation with the mindset of "everyone here is a jerk" then that's usually what you will find. You sound a little hostile in your letter, and some of that may be coming across in your approach. Try to tone it down a little: instead of trying to flirt, just be friendly.

Or at least be more honest about what you are looking for.

They're There To Dance

Then keep in mind that many women aren't at a disco for the primary reason to meet people --

they're there to dance, have fun with their friends and maybe do some flirting.

De-Emphasize Hooking Up

Women, based on my experience are there to meet men.

Are you at the discos to have fun, or is your main reason for going to meet women? Maybe if you took some of the emphasis off hooking up, things would happen more naturally.
