I think the easiest way of letting a guy down is by telling him the truth

I mean you don't want to get caught up in lies.

Here is What Can Happen If You Are Not Honest

I remember my best friend Sara told this guy that liked her, that she wasn't ready for a relationship, and she wouldn't be for a while. Two days later she meets this incredible older guy named Dan. When she goes to meet Dan's family a week later, the guy she told she wasn't ready for a relationship was his younger brother!

Not only did that hurt his feelings, but it ruined her relationship with Dan. I think you should tell this guy that you think he's great, but you only like him as a friend.

If You Don't Mean It, Don't Say It

Don't say anything you're not ready to uphold, like I'll call you and we can go hang out sometime. You may not want to hurt his feelings, but telling the truth about how you feel is the only nice way to let this guy know how you feel.

If you lie to him, and he later finds out its only going to hurt him more that you were not truthful with him in the first place.
