Dear Panel,
I am a 38-year-old woman, divorced 10 years ago.
3 daughters, 20, 17, and 16. Remarried 3 years ago to a man
I have been with for 8 years total.
He is wonderful, compassionate understanding.
I thought he was my "soul mate".
Found out last year that my "soul mate"
"wonderful" husband has a fetish for VERY young girls.
Figured it out through several give-away behavioral signs, then
most recently, discovered he has been downloading porn images
of pre-teen (10-12 year old) girls.
When I finally confronted him with this issue,
he admitted it, says he "can't help it, and wants to get
help, but has been fantasizing about this for years". Doesn't
want to "have these feelings" and "desperately"
wants to change to "save our marriage" which he believes
is solid, apart from this issue.
Do I dump him and start over? Support him and
hope he can overcome this?
