Back to Charlie's Answer

How do I get my teacher to notice me?

Charlie said:

"My guess is that you've found a 'soul mate'."

A Reader responds:

Being "Soulmates" Doesn't Make It OK

The part where Charlie says "he could be your soul mate" angers me! I can't believe he would be suggesting that a 16 year old girl go out with a man who was born 15 years BEFORE her! She's just a BABY in my eyes and he could possibly go to JAIL for even LOOKING at her the wrong way.

I disagree because this is sick.

Sure, kids always have crushes on High School teachers, but they fade because NO ONE encourages them!

But it IS OK. Age has nothing to do with love.

By encouraging them, you are allowing the child to think it's OK to date someone old enough to be their FATHER.

Perhaps when she is older and has those kind of interests with older men she can handle it better because she would be more mature, but we're talking about a CHILD who has berely begun to live and you're encouraging her to DATE someone who could live for her life AND his?!?!?
