Back to Charlie's Answer

How do I get my teacher to notice me?

Charlie said:

"But, I do suggest that you show him you like him by talking to him. Ask him questions about where he went to school, what theatre he has done, what are his plans for your class."

Patra responds:

I disagree because I don't think it is healthy to get Rachel's hope up.

Although it is not unusual for a student to have a crush on a teacher at some point, it is totally wrong to act on it.

His Coldness May Be On Purpose

I think that the coldness she feels coming from him is because he realizes she has a crush and is being as professional as he can be. She must understand that no matter what her feelings, nothing is going to happen while she is an underage student of his. It is his job as the adult in the situation to be clear about that, and his personal life should have nothing to do with his relationship with SIXTEEN YEAR OLD Rachel.

She Won't Like Him 10 Years From Now

She is very mature, special and talented -- things to treasure. Unfortunately, sometimes those very things make finding a boyfriend difficult. That doesn't mean that she should try to get closer to someone who is twice her age, morally and legally inappropriate for her, and someone she probably wouldn't give the time of day to in ten years.

Rachel, honey, just wait until you get to college! Believe me, you will find that special connection you have with this teacher is much more common than you think, when you get in a music program where there are people from all over who are just like you. I know it's hard now, but trust me, you'll meet someone right for you.

Charlie, are you twisted?
