Back to concerned's response

Am I good enough for their son?

Reader "concerned" said:

... being in a mixed-race relationship, especially with whites, is a no-go.

Jed Oros responds:

Mabarosi You have it all wrong. How do you think diversity came about?

I agree because I think we were created by God to be different, not to intermarry but to perpetuate the wonderful diversity that is the human race.

Racial Purity

Purity of race and bloodline are fundamental concepts by which most of humanity lives and dies, and these are unfortunately given racist and right wing connotations. I think all of God's children, whether of a white, black, yellow or brown skin, and whether male or female, and whatever their sexual, religious and social persuasions, are equal.

Retain the Diversity

Saibhin I completely disagree because how is it that skin color can still dictate your place in life?

However, it behooves of us to retain the difference until death. Of course, at the end it is people that matter, whether they are racially pure or not. And compassion for a fellow human is something only humans can offer. But, it is important to recognise nature's universal law which is to retain and celebrate the fundamental characteristic we were gifted with by her, and not try to alter it in any way.

Same-Race Compatibility

Most people find a partner of their own race far more compatible than that of another. While there may be a future for mixed-race relationships in very specific individual cases, most would never think of people of another race as likely partners.
