How can she see me as more than her tutor?

Wait Until She's Legal

The main question is: do you like her enough to wait until she's 18? Whether YOU have any intention of breaking laws or not, her parents still may have different ideas about a 22 year old dating their baby. If you are willing to wait until she's legal however, I see no reason why that relationship couldn't work out.

Karmela What 17-Year Olds Like

As a 17 year old girl, I can tell you that we look for the same things that women of ANY age look for: someone caring, mature, intelligent, funny, sweet...the list goes on. If you've already established a rapport with her, then you're that much closer to getting what you want.

It is just my humble opinion that you should wait until she is 18 to begin something more than a friendship, for moral as well as legal purposes.
