What is statutory rape, and why?
Reader "ME" said:

And everything in there was all what the laws are. But not why they are there. To protect our children?

If that's the case, then tell me: Why is it legal to kill a baby, but illegal to have consentual sex with a child?

Reader Kelly Responds:

I disagree.

There is much debate whether or not abortion is killing a baby. It is my personal belief that abortion is not murder.

Reader Mabarosi There's also other reasons, such as helping people to decide if they're ready for sex.

The statutory rape law is so that kids won't be having kids. Majority of abortions are done to women under the age of 20, these laws were made to help with this problem.

If kids aren't having sex then there will be no babies for them to "kill".
