Dear Hapie35,
1) That college students would consider using an informal advice
website to write their reports.
2-5) See answer to 1).
Okay, seriously?
Taking Things Too Seriously
My biggest problem was taking my college relationships too seriously.
I was "in love"and this was for real. I ended up marrying
a woman, right after college, who I thought was perfect for me,
but in hindsight, was not at all compatible. What was I thinking?
The Older You Get, the Less You Know
What happens in college is that the weight of the world feels like
it's on your shoulders and you think you have all the answers. Happily,
the older I get, the less I think I really understand. I guess by
the time I'm sixty, I'll really know nothing. But, I'll be happier.
Wisdom, patience, experience, and (one hopes) serenity come with
age. Each of these is a key ingredient in strong relationships.
Forego Love
I guess I would advise college students to forego love in favor
of strong friendships and hard study. And, if that doesn't work,
at least don't get married until you're five years out.
