Dear Panel,
About 10 months ago, I started writing this man I met through
a pen-pal site I found online.
He never hid the fact that he is currently doing time (5
years) in an out-of-state prison. I know this sounds like
"Springer Drama", but the guy was nice and we found
that we have a lot in common.
He does have a criminal record (nothing violent or sexual)
and says that since meeting me he has a "new outlook
on life" and is very happy for the first time in years,
promising never to wind up in prison again! As of last week
he writes telling me "how much he LOVES me" for
the first time. Unknown to him, I'm starting to have some
strong feelings myself towards him. He's really sincere sounding
and seems to have an emotional attatchment to me a
healthy one.
Do you think I should give this guy a chance at love and
a relationship?
Can people really change once out of prison to become productive
members of society and in a relationship?
This guy talks of kids, family, the whole 9 yards. Sounds
like he wants to turn over a new leaf.
