Can I date my best friend's Ex if they still have sex?

My best friend and her boyfriend broke up, though they sleep together occasionally (sometimes cuddling only and sometimes sex).

Lately, he's been calling me saying that he's interested and wants to get to know me better. I think I'm semi-attracted to him, but don't know what to do.
