How do you know when it's time to break up?

Saibhin responds:

Pardon me for being too simplistic, but the goal is K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid).

Charlie,

If your marriage works on exciting and stimulating things that aren't new, (ummm...I'm assuming you and your wife are avid extreme sportsmen ....ack – just kidding – please don't attack) then bully for you.

But I, of all people, know that after a certain amount of time things don't SEEM new anymore. That's when you can take action to make your life EXCITING, STIMULATING, and yes, perhaps NEW. Basically, if you get to the point where you don't have the energy to make it exciting, stimulating, or new, then maybe it's time to call it quits.

Am I a little more clear and a little less simplistic for you now? Darn, usually you have to tell people not to read into things so much, but in your case Charlie, use a little inference.
