She is a relationship martyr.

That's not true. She said "he always offers to do something else." So, he is making an effort to "give an inch." Until she lets him know what her preferences are, what is he supposed to do? So long as she agrees to go to the club, and doesn't provide an alternative, they will continue to go to the club.

It's not fair to him for her to resent him because of her complacency. The problem right now is HER. Even though she has said "I don't particularly enjoy going to the clubs," she gives in and goes (because he wants to), and then resents him for going.
