Aaron Responds to Chelsea:

He's probably not a pedophile, but if he is, Sarah would be justified in leaving the relationship.

Luthien is right; don't jump to the conclusion that the boyfriend is a deviant. That would be rather unlikely.

So please read the rest of this response with that in mind.

In the unlikely event that it turns out he actually is a pedophile, why on earth should Sarah stay with him?

"Stand by your man" is a romantic notion, but in reality, it benefits no one. Sarah deserves to be with someone emotionally healthy, and she has no obligation to him (other than to get him into therapy).

If Sarah left, that negative consequence of his behavior would hopefully give him a push to get himself some help.

Let's not get too carried away with the idea that love will conquer all. People still need to make rational decisions to take care of themselves and others.
