Carmela, Girl!
Don't be discouraged. Believe me!
Teen Relationships Don't Last
I had a similar problem when I was your age. I had a real hard
time finding a boyfriend or even having a guy that liked me! I would
walk around moping with my head down in high school wishing I had
a boyfriend like the other girls in my grade.
Sure, it really sucks seeing your girlfriends holding hands with
their boyfriends, but nine times out of ten, relationships at that
age DO NOT last forever!
A Foundation on Friendship
I had to venture out into the world before I could discover what
qualities I would like in a man. The key is forming good friendships
with a person first (which you have been doing!) Keep on doing that!
A friendship is a great foundation for a realtionship.
Get To Know Yourself
In order to find that right "chemistry" between you and
another, learn how to like yourself first. If you don't like yourself,
how can you like somebody else? Get to know yourself and know what
makes you happy as an individual.
When that shines through, all different sorts of people will notice
that and take that in to account. You might have to date numerous
people until you find the "right one" for you, but the
main point is that you WILL find that person!
Guys Should Come Last
Don't be in a hurry. Have fun at your age. Concentrate on putting
YOU first in this stage of the game. Flirt, go to concerts, go shopping,
go out with your friends. Having a guy in your life at 17 should
be one of the last things on your list!!! Just experiment with all
sorts of different guys to find the qualities you value the most!
Don't give up! Just remember to have fun and like yourself!
