Just another suggestion:

National Help

I want to recommend that she call the RAINN (Rape, Abuse Incest National Network) toll-free, 24 hour, CONFIDENTIAL hotline and talk to a counselor trained to handle this situation specifically.

1-800-656-HOPE

Help in Kansas

Also, since I used to be rape crisis counselor in Kansas, and if she is in the Lawrence area, she can call:

785-841-2345

and ask to speak to a RVSS advocate (Rape Victim-Survivor Service).

No, you have not yet been raped, but rape crisis counselors can still help you.

Toll-Free Help in Kansas

And Kansas has yet another toll free hotline:

1-800-END-ABUSE

Counselors and Clergy Are Required To Report

The problem with talking to a school counselor, or a clergy person is that they are mandated reporters (meaning they MUST report child abuse), which may not be a step she is willing to take (although reporting it to authorities may seem like the thing to do to outside adults).

Working Out a Safe Plan

A phone call can be anonymous, and she can work out a safe plan with the counselor. The counselor will also be able to direct her to appropriate local resources.
