By your definition, gays can't be sexually active? It counts if it's with another person.

OK, my definition of sexually active is anything that you do with the opposite sex: oral sex, anal sex, fingering, blow jobs, hand jobs, etc.

Only If You're Currently Having Sex

You've got it backwards. Doctors wouldn't have to say "in the last year" if it meant "currently". It just means you've had sex.

To me, sexually active means currently being in a sexual relationship. If you are not currently having sex, then I don't believe that you are sexually active.

That's why doctors ask "Have you been sexually active in the last year?"

Sorry about the short answer, but it's the best I can do.
