I agree with Bailey's answer and always love her down-to-earth
advice.
However, I don't see where the ex has to have a place in
this situation. Any mention of her will probably put his
guard up (because, really, how many of us actually enjoy
talking to our significant others about past situations!)
I think you should simply tell him that since you are considering
talking the sexual aspects of your relationship further,
you would feel better starting it off knowing you are both
safe, regardless of each others past.
You're moving towards a future with one another; leave
the past out of it!
