I swear I didn't know she was 12, what do I do?

Age is more than just a number – it's experience levels, maturity levels and general coping and social skills

Jeannie Responds:

Age is SO much more than a number! I can't even compare how I was at 12 years old versus 23 years old.

His Woman Doesn't Exist

But I think more than just her age and maturity level (or lack thereof), he needs to realize that the WOMAN he fell in love with doesn't exist. It was a child pretending to be a woman. The woman he believed in, trusted and developed feelings for does not exist.

I don't think it's a matter of whether or not to be with her. I think he realizes that is impossible. God, I hope he does.

He Fell for a Young Girl's Fantasy

But more for his own peace of mind, he needs to realize that he didn't fall in love with a real woman...he fell in love with a young girl living out a fantasy.

Her Parents' Problem

He definitely needs to bring her actions and her deceit to her parents' attention – it IS their problem, and they need to be aware of what their daughter is getting into.

It's THEIR job to babysit her, not his.
