Dear Butterfly,
Yes, you have a right to have a relationship even though you think
you might die soon – and I say "think" because I
know people who'd been told that they only had months to live, but
they've lived past what a mere mortal says!
We're All Dying
I think you would be right to let him know, but the truth is any
one of us could die today, tomorrow, next week, or next year. Tomorrow
isn't promised to ANYBODY! Fact is, we are all dying. Every day
that we lives brings us all one day closer to the day we die. You
are not alone in that respect.
Fortunately, those of us who know Who holds the future are actually
looking forward to returning home. I hope that you have already
found that peace as well.
Live your life to the fullest: Plan as though you were going to
live a hundred years, live as though you are going to die tomorrow.
(I can't think of who said that.) But it's true.
No Reason Not To Pursue Love
If you believe that you have found love, there is absolutely no
reason not to pursue it. Remember, the clock is ticking for all
of us. Just because you think you know your time might be short
is no reason to cut off love.
If he really loves you and understands how precious life is, he
will want to spend the rest of your days together.
