Dear Panel,
I have never been in anything that remotely
resembles a serious relationship. It's always been:
meet a guy, get along great, hang out, have fun...then
I'd fall in love, he wouldn't, and I'd get hurt.
The Older I Get, The Harder It Is
It seems the older I get, the harder it is to get over
it. I'm nowhere near over the last one, and he's been
with someone else for a year and a half now! Maybe I'm
not as resilient as I was in my youth.
I'm Not Cut Out For Love
So I've decided to just give up. I'm obviously not
cut out for this whole love thing. I'm tired of getting
hurt all the time. I'm a solitary person by nature,
so I don't easily get lonely, and I've never really
been gung-ho about marriage or children.
My Friends Are Horrified
This seems like a logical decision to me, but all my
friends are horrified: they say I can't give up, that
I need to see a therapist, etc. I guess I'm just looking
for some other opinions.
