Dear Wounded Karma,
Yours is a quite extraordinary tale of the perils of online encounters,
as they are a forum where anything goes, and the distinction between
truth and fiction--as you are discovering--is a difficult one to
make.
You've Suffered A Loss
It's tough to piece together from your story enough information
to make the call as to whether these circumstances are real or just
some elaborate ruse, but what is real, is the pain you are feeling.
Whether or not you
fell in love with the person you interacted with for two years,
or became attached to the idea of that person, you have nonetheless
suffered a loss, and it will hurt.
Understand That She's Gone
It's natural for you to be curious, and to investigate all you
can, but I think you have to come to terms with the state of affairs
right now, and accept her as someone who is gone from your life,
and you must give yourself time to grieve and finally move on.
She's Either Dead or a Liar
Why do I advise this? Well, if the story is true, and she is indeed
dead, then she truly is gone, and nothing you can do can bring her
back. On the other hand, if this story is false, and she is deceiving
you, then why would you want to continue to pine over someone who
would purposefully
hurt you?
Put
This Behind You
Either way, it's better to find what comfort you can and put this
behind you. Yes, it will hurt, but as the Narrator sings in the
play The Fantasticks, "without a hurt, the heart is hollow."
You've Got Wonderful Things To Offer
When you're ready, get back out there. And don't be hard on yourself,
thinking that you have nothing to offer anyone. You have the ability
to care and to love, and that is the most wonderful gift you could
ever offer anyone.
