Dear Untrusting,
It's ironic that you signed your letter "Untrusting,"
because you have trusted this guy for far too long. Both your parents
and your friends are telling you that this guy is bad news. Don't
you think that they might be right?
You Won't Get Any More Out of This
I know you feel that you've invested a lot of emotional energy
into this relationship, which makes you want to see it through.
You have to realize that no matter how much you have put in, you're
not going to get anything else out.
He Treats You Like Crap
I don't know how much clearer he can make it for you. If he cared
about you, he wouldn't be ducking your phone calls. Even if he isn't
cheating on you (he probably is, though), why do you want to be
with someone who treats you like crap?
You Can't Get That Time Back
Economists call the concept "sunk costs." All the work
you did on the relationship is gone; there's nothing you can do
to get that part of your life back.
Dump Him
The past is past, and you can't let that wasted time and energy
factor into your decision. The sooner you drop this guy and move
on with your own life, the healthier you'll be in the future. Trust
your friends and your parents. They have your best interests in
mind.
