Tough questions. I think it would be great to get answers from both guys and girls on this one. I will do my best to help you out. I am not sure if you will find any balance in this situation.

Guys, myself included are a little strange. Strange meaning if you say "hi" to him, he probably thinks that you want to
sleep with him.

You already went too far with him. I think that you did not lead him on purposely, but he probably has other agendas.

Test Out His Intentions

Don't flirt with him too much but see for sure if you think he will cheat on his family. If so, I think that you may need to end this friendship. It is unfortunate, but you have to do it.

Otherwise, he will eventually hit on you which will make matters at work ten times worse. Remember, guys have two brains. I think one may be working a little harder than the other at this point.

Keep All Socializing Strictly Professional

But Jimmy, I don't see how she can just exclude him all of a sudden.

I think that a happy medium would be to keep all of your socializing professional. I mean work lunches (once in a while). Light conversations. Nothing too deep, remember "hello" to a guy is ("yeah, she wants me"). That is about it I think.

I am sure he will be disappointed when he doesn't see you as much. But hey, look at it this way, you may be saving a marriage!
