Dear Lost,

The first thing you need to remember is that your mom is only looking out for your best interests. She is your mother, and she's only doing what she thinks is best for your well being, even though it feels differently to you.

She Doesn't Want You To Get Hurt

Your mom is most likely trying to keep you from getting hurt- she is probably aware that there are older guys who like to use younger girls to get sex, and use the naivety of the girls to achieve this.

I'm not saying that this is what your boyfriend is doing, but the possibility does exist.

She Doesn't Want You To Get Pregnant

Then there's the issue of teen pregnancy. Sure, it is your body, but it's not your body that your mom is exactly worried about- it's your future and your well being.

A child at your age is something that could completely change your life forever. Your mom is like any other parent in that she wants you to succeed in life, and she's very well aware that a child could quite easily disrupt that.

Sara

But she SHOULDN'T need to have sex. Sex isn't the only way to have intimacy.

Sex isn't everything, and while it is nice, it's not essential to a relationship. If you really feel you need to have sex in this relationship, maybe you should sit down and talk about this rationally with your mother.

Morticia

Yes, but she should also apologize for breaking the law.

Doing this will show some signs of maturity which might at least put a little more faith in you. Don't argue and don't get mad- just talk rationally, and remember to listen, too. She's been around longer than you have, and she does know what she's talking about.

A parent can be both a blessing and a curse- a curse because they can quite often ruin a good time, but a blessing because while ruining your fun, they're looking out for your well being.

Best of luck,
