| Dear Bob,
Sounds like you're not ready to take a chance on Tom just yet.
Although after 6 years of being together, how much of a gamble is
it really?
I've never been one to believe that marriage should make or break
a relationship. You definitely should not get married if you're
not sure. There's really no need to add to the divorce rate later
on.
Make Yourself Happy
If you want to marry Tom, do so. But if you're still thinking there's
someone else better out there for you, wait it out. You have to
make yourself happy first.
Don't Marry For The Wrong Reasons
You shouldn't marry Tom for the wrong reasons (i.e. bio-clock,
outside pressure, because he wants to...) At the same time don't
miss out on him because you're still dwelling on the past (Jeff).
Looks to me like Tom is pretty close to perfect for you. But is
'pretty close' enough for you?
I don't think there's anything wrong with you continuing to be
with Tom without getting officially hitched. It's just a piece of
paper and more paper work come tax time isn't it?
I say do what your heart tells you. And 31 is not old.
Good luck!
