Dear Panel,
My husband and I have a wonderful, open
relationship. We have been married for 5 years but dated
all through high school.
He's Become Jealous
Recently, he has become very jealous of
a guy friend ( I grew up with him) that I occasionally
keep in touch with. I understand somewhat his feelings
and I have agreed to keep the contact very minimal as
he feels threatened by this relationship.
My friend called my cell phone to let
me know a mutual friend was in trouble. My husband went
balistic. I agreed that he should not call my cell phone
or home phone as I would be upset if the tables were
reversed. But now he acts like he doesn't trust me anymore.
He's Openly Hostile
Every time I go out to shop, shuttle children,
scrapbook classes, etc., he is openly annoyed and gives
me the cold shoulder.
I would never want to put our marriage
in jeopardy however, I don't feel like I should abandon
a friendship that began some 30 years ago just because
my husband feels uncomfortable. Please help.
