Dear What's Inside,
Golly gosh jeepers gee whilikers. And here's another one: If you're
friends all jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, would you follow them?
You Don't Know If You Can Do Better
I understand your problem, though. You're wondering if they're
right. Perhaps you can do better. But here's the thing: you don't
know. You don't know if they're right, and you don't know if this
guy is the right one for you.
You already know that it's what inside that counts. You are the
one who has to make the decision. So what if he's not handsome?
So what if he's no Tom Cruise, if he's nice and treats you well,
and you're interested in him, go for it. What's the worst that could
happen? You don't hit it off, and go your own merry way.
Your Friends Don't Know What Will Make You Happy
Keep this in mind: your friends mean no harm, but you are the one
that ultimately has to live with your decision.
They want to see you happy, but sometimes they don't know what
will make you happy no matter how long you have been their friend.
If you are happy, and your decision does not cause harm to others,
then you have made a good decision. And if anyone tells you that
you have to keep others around you happy with what you decide, they
are bullshitting you. You're responsible for your life, and they
for theirs.
Go Out With Him
So, my suggestion is go out with him. It won't hurt you. It won't
hurt him, and it certainly won't hurt your friends. And who knows,
maybe you'll like him and he'll like you. And your friends will
just get over it.
Good luck, and keep in mind your own advice. It's what's inside
that counts.
Love and Peace,
