Yes, technically, it is OK to date your cousin since you are not
related by blood. But, it may cause problems within your family
that you need to prepare for.
Talk To your Parents About It First
Sit down and have a talk with your mother and step-father about
the situation. Tell them that you would like to ask your cousin
out on a date but wanted to get their feedback first and make sure
it was OK with them.
If they respond well, then go ahead and ask her out. If they are
unsure or against it, you need to think about what it could do to
your family if you proceed.
Take It Slow
Remember, if you choose to ask her out, take things slowly. She
is young and in a possibly awkward situation. Plus, you don't know
if she has feelings for you as well. You don't want to jump to quickly
into something that could effect your family.
