Dear Johnny,
You are definitely in different points in your life. The best thing
to do is to let her do what she chooses. And in the long run, this
will probably create the least heartache for both of you.
There Are No Guarantees
There's no guarantees when it comes to relationships. You can plan
and plan and say 'We are together', but what will this really mean?
Does it mean that if she meets somebody interesting she will refuse
to get to know him?
On the other hand, what if you say 'It is over between us'? It
does not mean that she will no longer have any feelings for you.
And what if she doesn't meet anyone who makes her forget about you?
We don't know the answers to any of these questions until they occur.
Let Her Go
If you hold on to the relationship and it doesn't work out, I think
it will create a lot of heartache. But if you're willing to let
her go, you'll already be prepared for the loss. And if it does
eventually work out, you'll feel even better.
I say don't try to cage her up and she may come back to you voluntarily.
Plus, she may have some resentment towards you while she's away
at school trying to enjoy herself.
Good luck!
