Reader's Response

Reader Nathan N. asked:

I am a Baptist minister's son, and I have lately been wondering if it is truly a sin to have pre-marital sex, or is it just not "PC"?

Reader Mabarosi Responds:

God Loves Sinners

From what I've learnt from my teachers and pastors at school, and from the Bible, God loves you even though you sin.

Remember, Jesus died and rose to heaven to save us from our sins. So as long as you believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and after being crucified rose to heaven, your sins will be forgiven.

I'm Not Sure If Premarital Sex Is a Sin

Brad & Heather

This really is a clearer topic than what has been described.

Having said this, I'm not sure if premarital sex IS a sin. I haven't studied the Bible.

Jody

You are so wrong.

Personally, I don't believe it's a sin to have premarital sex, but that the best sex is with someone you love (and of course loves you too) and who you're committed to. The Bible says that the best place for sex is in marriage. But I dunno.

God Won't Hate You

Do what you feel is right. If you want to have sex, I don't think that God is going to hate you. Nathan, you sound like a very committed Christian, and good on you for that. We're all sinners. You've probably been rude to your parents on occasions, and have used profanity.

If you want to have sex, fine, have sex. Just don't hurt anyone, and make sure you use protection.
